Are QuantStack's strategies AI-powered?+
No. Every strategy is rule-based and systematic — fixed entry, exit, and risk logic, not a machine-learning model or a black box. That logic is backtested and forward-tested using the methodology on the
Performance page, not trained on data after the fact.
What do I need to run a strategy?+
NinjaTrader 8, a live, demo, or prop-firm evaluation brokerage account, and a valid license key. See
How it works for the full import-to-live walkthrough.
Do I get the strategy's source code?+
No — each strategy ships as a compiled, licensed NinjaScript Add-On, so the underlying logic isn't exposed. In exchange, we publish full backtest methodology and results rather than asking you to trust a black box.
Can I run a strategy on a prop-firm or funded account?+
Yes. The license doesn't restrict account type — live, demo, and prop-firm evaluation accounts are all supported.
How many machines can I run my license on?+
One machine at a time — your license key binds to a machine ID on activation. If you need to move to a new computer or reinstall, reach out and we'll transfer it.
What happens when a strategy is updated?+
Updates and fixes ship automatically to your existing license key at no extra cost — there's no separate repurchase or reinstall process required.
How are backtest results verified?+
Every strategy runs through the same validation pipeline before release: in-sample/out-of-sample splits, walk-forward testing, Monte Carlo permutation, bootstrapped resampling, parameter sensitivity checks, and slippage/fee modeling. Full details are on the
Performance page.
What's the difference between backtested and forward-tested?+
Backtested means run against historical data after the fact, with the benefit of hindsight. Forward-tested means run live, in real time, with no changes to the logic during the test window. We label every result clearly so you always know which one you're looking at.
